In Brugge

We take an early morning stroll to the big railway station; we have an option of about 23 platforms to choose from-none of which say Brugge and everything is written in foreign.Eventualy we find our train and in an hour we have landed in Brugge, which is a sort of genuine medieval disneyland. We join Patrick for our guided tour and a rather stunning canal boat tour.

I suggested to Patrick that it would be a good idea to call Brugge “The Venice of the North”; he thinks that is a wonderful idea and that every time that expression is used, i will receive royalty payments.

On the way back to our hotel we stop for beer-pro-tip: don't ask for recommendations for beer when there is a selection of over 200 to choose from!

Interesting fact of the day: brugge is an anagram of bugger!
