Into the land of goulash

 Maybe I haven't mentioned this already but Europe is in the grip of a heatwave, which makes for "interesting" days of cycling.

Today's destination is Mosonmagyarovar(sic-just look it up).

Interesting ride out of Bratislava then into rural areas and levy banks and then all of a sudden we are in Hungary.








We reach our destination and despite riding past our hotel twice we eventually find it. We are hot and bothered!

Following a refreshing shower we do a self guided tour of town including a visit of some old palace.

Dinner is another low cal affair with plenty of chicken livers(YUK!)

Vienna for the next 10 days

 Following a fitful night's sleep we arrive at Vienna Hbf. We ooze off the train and despite confusing instructions we manage to find our apartment block. We wait 1/2 hour for urotrash to complete their check in. We are told we cannot possibly have our room until 3pm(they wouldn't treat the Pope so churlishly). So we wander into the city via a favourite building. Lunch is at Trzsniewski(pronounced Trzsniewski) We tool around the central district for some time and then walk back to our digs; we wait 1/2 hour in queue of ut's only to be told that our room would not be ready for another hour. Thank goodness we never allow ourselves to get upset and are extremely tolerant. In the evening we have dinner at Meissl & Schadn, where we are served enough food to feed a small army Puffed up schnittys Half a boiled cow

You say sorna I say sauna

Today we do a guided tour of Helsinki. We are hooked up with a bunch of septics so politics is off the table. We see a bunch more of big buildings. Traditional game of throwing boulder into tree ?The happiest people in the world?  In the afternoon we have a booking at the Loyly suana; Helsinki has a population of 5 million people and 3 million saunas. We stop for a nutritious lunch. The sauna is not a rudy nudy type so there is some degree of decorum. It turns out to be excessively hot inside these sweatboxes and the hardcore types follow up with a dip into the freezing Baltic-not this little black duck! We stroll back into the centre for the traditional Hofmann last day of holiday ritual-the buying of a new suitcase(2 this time). We dine at the aptly named Bastard Burger establishment. FIN

En route a gay Pareee

 We depart Melbourne late, making sure we have no hankies in our pockets which would necesitate a full scale lockdown of the terminal. Thanks to the use of powerful pharmacologicalagents the trip is made bearable. We arrive dazed and confused and negotiate what would be a very efficient customs experience if only the machines were working. Taxi to Rue Duret where we are greeted by our Antarctic buddies. They insist we immediately start our tour of Paris. Thank goodness we don't suffer jetlag! Our dinner is vin et fromage. following which we collapse into a heap.
